For anyone who saw the shark adopt I uploaded the other day: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41464873/
Here she is with her final design, and a name at last: Bonnibel Mako. It comes from her species, the Shortfin Mako Shark, which are also called Bonito Sharks. But she hates being called by her full name, so just Boni or Mako are best!
I have had this whole design idea in mind for well over a year and a bit, and I bought the adopt months ago, now I finally got her design finalised!
Here's a little bio about her:
Boni is an inventor and gadgeteer. A knack for creating and a perseverance for seeing things done, she wanted to see the world beyond the waters.
Boni however, is a gill breather. She would not be able to survive on land. She also quite obviously does not have legs.
Unable to venture onto land naturally, she would put her gadgeteering prowess to task. Her first creation was a breathing collar device, that would keep her gills submerged in a set of self contained water tanks. The collar uses vents to release CO2, and take in fresh oxygen for the water.
With the whole breathing issue dealt with; next would be locomotion. Many designs were considered and prototyped, but in the end the final prototype that worked the best was an exo-harness with mechanical legs. The operation is pretty simple. She leans forwards, it walks forwards, she leans backwards it walks backwards. The design, while functional, is still in a prototype stage and had a tendency to have a few hiccups. She carries a few tools in the exo-harness belt to work out any kinks.
I'm incredibly happy with how this design has come out! Holtz had next to nothing to work with outside of what I could describe to him, and the end result is better than what I envisioned in my mind's eye!
I'm very very eager and excited to get more work with this character! Words cannot describe how happy I am with her right now!
