An old mantra of flying states that one should leave at least 8 hours between bottle and throttle. In this scene, therefore, we can safely assume that neither of these professional pilots has a flight in the morning, and are taking things easy after what I’m sure was a busy day. Yes, it’s Dai and the renard fennec fantastique 
Kadomatsu , enjoying one another’s company over a pint of Shepherd Neame’s best: Spitfire Ale. ‘Tis the Bottle of Britain, you know! :D
I commissioned
lupinemoonfeather, who did a wonderful job as they always do, for this piece a few months before I met Kadomatsu for the first time, at my first ever Just Fur the Weekend convention in Bristol. It was great to get to experience my first British con with a friend, and knowing the value of having someone who’s been to any con with you at your first one, I did what I could to help Kado get settled in. He wrote a fantastic synopsis of his time at JFTW, which I urge you to check out, particularly if you’re new to conventions yourself.

I am also reminded of the Simpson episode where Homer was banned at the tavern and went looking for a new place and ended up at the 'Pilot' bar where he had to slip on a pilot's jacket to be served and was then grabbed by a dispatcher to take a flight...
