So I'm on vacation this week... In my basement. (I actually do this every year around this time.)
I have spent the last two days disassembling and then reassembling all of the beam splitter optics on my pulsed holography apparatus, with new and much nicer beam splitters. Its finaly back together, and this is one of an uncountably infinate number of test images trying to get the illumination beams aligned and even. There is a mirror in the plate holder, the blob on the left of the image is the cat's (my?) right ear. You would not believe how much of a pain illuminating the ears is. Could be worse I suppose, rabbit or kangaroo ears. And unicorn horns... they get in the reference beam (which comes down from behind and above the subject's head, to shine on the plate just in front of them (where the mirror is)).
There is still a bit of a shadow under my muzzle... Meh.

If it were simple, it wouldn't be as cool. And how many people get to complain about horns in the reference beam? (-:
I guess really, there /should/ be a shadow under one's muzzle... I'm trying to get enough other light that it isn't extreme. But given the composition of the final white light hologram, its not visible. So Close Enough.
