Pet? I lost track of how many times I had to gently pick up those spider and move them at the Mall in the late summer. Folks would be calling Security no stop - all freaked out over a harmless spider. Was funny at one point - 3 AZ Blonds on the wall by a service door and 2 little brown bats by them. Victoria's Secret manager on her cell phone in a panic and then the manager of Hot Topic using her phone to take pics of the group. She wanted all of them as pets... Me in uniform tying to keep a straight face....
I know, our big spiders won't kill you by looking at them funny. Now the Bark Scorpions, those are nasty sobs. The big centipedes can give you a nasty bite - had one crawl over my boot while sitting by a camp fire near Tucson some years ago. I was just going "Don't go up my leg, Don't go up my leg... Our nastiest snake is the Mojave Green Rattlesnake. Has a neurotoxin in the venom. Watched Steve Irwin on his show years ago - he filmed some episodes in Arizona - guy was handling a Mojave Green....
