His theme song is "The Irish Washerwoman." He smells like bacon.

Not Scottish, but IRISH.
Back at the beginning of the 20th century, there was a massive potato famine in Ireland, meaning that traditional living there was extremely harsh and difficult. So a lot of Irish immigrants came to America, and many of them got jobs as policemen. So many in fact, that the stereotype of the Irish cop was created.
That's how I remember it being told to me, anyway.

You are absolutelt correct! Also back then it was a given people of other skin colors where inferior to whites. but also when white people from other countries showed up they were stereotyped,mocked and treated poorly. The Irish,the Italians,Germans, etc. Young kids today should study history *waves a finger*
