Hey everyone, it's that time again. I typed this ahead of schedule due to a change in my work schedule. Getting my 2nd Covid Vaccine and had to do a few things ahead of schedule. Gonna feel like crap on Thursday for the after effects. Now with that out of the way, let's get to the review.
This week we are diving into an extremely rare limited release from Room 101. I was fortunate enough to snag one of these bad boys by a good good friend from Wisconsin, Moocow for this stick. Now let's get to it!
Room 101 Death Bucket:
Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano)
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
The look of this stick was something very different. Knowing Matt, there's always something new to see and experience. For a Habano wrapper, it was just the right dark reddish hue. Was a bit brighter in tone from other habanos I've seen. Construction was complex, but mainly shown to have a concept of, get it while they are hot. The band however was something to be treasured to the eye first hand. A bucket of chicken except all bones including a skull. Perhaps someone was unlucky enough to fall into the oven? O.o On the bucket was the typical sakura flower along with Room 101. Gotta' have that name there of course. A light bit of oil for a good little shine. The veins and seems were present, but mainly the band itself was the real distraction for what it would bring to the table. The pre-slice was nice and vivid in draw. Let's light this up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were very calm in tone. Alot of earth and wood notes. Almost like I was at the usual relaxed barn setting. Some hay, but yet or oaky in tone. Made it feel like I just woke up from a good sleep and had a nice cup of coffee at that moment. Some medium fruit/citrus notes came into play which was a bit different for a start. Soon some hint traces of light white pepper came into play, but mainly a bit soft in tone. So far a warm and gentle beginning.
The Burn Part 2:
It was a nice Sunday afternoon and I was back and forth talking to the staff while puffing on this stick. Only had water during the time. Wish I had coffee. Soon some sweet bread notes along with some roasted nuts for the retro hale. It was at this point where I was in the mindset of a mid breakfast stick cigar. Something I wish I had more of. I kicked myself for not getting a pack of these sooner. At this point the white pepper notes were taking a step back a bit. Mainly a tiny kick for the body itself, but nothing too strong. Medium body at this point.
The Burn Final:
My palate was in breakfast bliss. I again wished I had more of these for a good morning stick. The earthy wood notes became a little more natural and warm at this point. Like letting in some air in the barn to vent out some clogging in the air flow. By this time the light white pepper notes were completely gone while the dried fruit and citrus notes flowed a little more evenly between puffs and retro hales. Near the end of the stick the finishing notes came out to be the earthy wood notes. Was a nice and pleasant end for the review.
Verdict:
A nice change of pace when it comes to a relaxing stick that helps ease the world around you. Even with the extreme yet funny tone of the band, it's like a big ferocious bear, but mainly sweet as a teddy in tone. A particular stick that is enjoyed at any time of the day. However, these cigar have long been Discontinued being a limited run. Unless you know someone that has a stash, these sadly are no longer available.
Next Week: Room 101 Death Bucket 2
See you guys then!
