This was a commission from
randomonlooker,
He wrote everything, I just sang ^^
a musical setting of
mishmeerkat's poem titled "Lust"
the text is:
Temptation of flesh, filled with desire
Her lingering lips caresses of fire
She entices her prey with corporeal bonds
And, snared in her eyes, their instinct responds
Her ruby rouged lips and silken fair skin
Earthly vessels to embody her sin
The soft crystal blue of beguiling eyes
Is part of seduction's deceitful disguise
Yet the cruelty of time strips mortals raw
Exposing even the darkest of flaws
And those who for worldly pleasures yearn
Are engulfed in flames, and eternally burn.

Me, think? Pffft, what planet have you been living on, I even made a very silly mistake on the score in the soprano part "of for fire" or something of the sort, a typo of course, it should just have been "of fire" with fire also on the note that erroneously had a "for". COMPUTERS! D:
There's two reasons why I didn't quite finish tonally, the main on being that lust is a sin and having an amen cadence in the end would just be so wrong (I'm serious here, even though I didn't quite write it so)! The second would be that the last chord there isn't really supposed to lead to a cadence, in this style of writing the chords aren't very important, it's more of the proper resolution of tensions and dissonance, and proper resolution lead to that (went from minor to major as well) back in those days it was usually ended without the resolution, so if you imagine the piece ending on the chord just before the end, that would have been more period accurate, but even harsher to modern ears.
Oh yeah! Pepper sang beautifully, he's practically a virtuoso (can you be a virtuosos singer? I'd like to think so), interpreted it wonderfully too!
But I must tell you that I was the guy who wrote the music, so he "just" sang the notes I told him to sing, though you can never "just" do anything, he did it extremely well and it wouldn't have been the same with anyone else! =D

I know what you mean. We chatted often and I was always delighted that we became friends, but I never felt I could contribute much to his work and he was never one to talk about himself much (I was always the one whining!)
At least with this, I feel I have some connection to him... He was a special person.
