Hmm... It’s interesting that the machine says “Threat Mitigated” and reduces its power afterwords. Whoever built it seems to have made it with the intention to keep animals out or otherwise redirect them away from that area. So the question becomes what is it guarding, and does it have any relation to Atlas’ chip...
