Nevereending nightmare

My mother has endured sufferings that I never imagined I would suffer myself too. Searching for my relatives in the ruins of what was my village, I can't help but to think about the reason of our fall.
Why does our place have to suffer twice in two generations?
Why do we have to repeat the same mistake again and again?
Are we condemned to live this forever, as a curse that I will pass to the following generation?
