I think you found out that during the time you were training, so was Arix, he was a dragon forced to use strength to survive since birth, he had an edge on you when you first met and kept growing since. So unless your dragon form is truly infused with supernatural strength, my bet is on the red guy this time ;)
Neither he will for you, both of you are good at dealing with not-easy things, Arix was fighting for survival and gaining strength while you were still a human, even though I like the idea of you being equals, the facts are in the red dreg's favor, and you are going against his shield arm, so unless ya know the actual arm-wrestling techniques that let you beat stronger enemies, my bet stays on Arix.
