The London Herald-Tribune's obituary on Catherine Owens...
THE LONDON HERALD-TRIBUNE announces the death of Madam Catherine "Katrine" Owens, age 37, who was found dead on the commode yester-evening by her chambermaid. Born in the East End in 1863, Ms. Owens had many friends who kept her in touch with her roots. She was known in high society for her taste in wine, love of all the world's cuisine, and outspoken candor about her peers. Trumpeting would announce her coming and going, and she filled the air with perfume almost as sweet as her nature towards others.
As Ms. Owens has no loved ones or next of kin, she has bequeathed her fortune to her friends, who are in great need of it. A private funeral shall be held at St. Gestas's Chapel on the 25th, followed by a reception at Sullivan's Public House on Dorset Street.
A commission of Meeperseee and ACROnymus's Hazbin-inspired OC Katrine, and a recounting of the incident that led to her passing. Who knew Victorian newspaper writers could throw such shade?
An alternate version showing the Herald-Tribune's real feelings and a link to the original can be found here.
