A large bug that resides in the ever so quiet City of Tears. She resides in a tower near the Soul Sanctum, where she studies and performs experiments with Soul.
She was told of stories of the Soul Master, a great Mage who intended to use the power of Soul to fight the ongoing infection, but has now fallen to his own lust for power and knowledge.
The Soul Master's husk remains in the Sanctum, whether he's alive or not... no one knows, as they are too scared to venture into it's dark halls.

She desires to achieve what he could not, wishing to find the true power of Soul and hopefully not lose her own mind in the process.
She's quite sharp, known in the city as a fearsome bug with a harsh attitude to most common folk.
Because of how the City folk see her, she spends most of her time alone in her tower.
The Successor had been looking for an apprentice for quite some time- then Harrold would stroll up to her facility one day to offer his services.

She sends Harrold off into the Sanctum to gather old research, whatever he can find that may prove useful. Harrold also does errands for her as well as long, arduous journeys across the lands when she commands it. She treats him as an object at first, but slowly warms up to him and shows a more caring side.

The Successor is also acquainted with Lemm, as he holds interest in Hallownest's past and many valuables.

The Successor even 'adopts' a Vessel at a later point, learning how to bring a Shade to a Vessel and give it life. Tho unstable, she takes care of the Vessel as if it were her own child.

A fun fact- Harrold is the one who buys her all her stockings- namely as gifts. He doesn't know what else to buy her and is oblivious to how she feels about these gifts

I've been wanting to make her ref for a while solely to figure out how to make 4 legs work.
I quite like her figure in the end though, I think it works well~

She WILL step on you, crush you under her weight. She's not to be messed with (:
