Chapter 25: Meeting with the Blue-Moon Tribe
While the adults were searching the forest where the crater was at, Melody and the others had arrived to the far western side of the woods. The royal pre-teens had gotten out from the carriages when they got close enough to the large area of trees.
Godfred and Nicholas wanted to accompany them but Kathrin suggested that they should stay at the carriages and rest. She asked sweetly. "You two look very tired from that little chase in the village. How about you stay here and guard the carriages while we explore? We promise to stay very close."
Usually, the two would disregard the suggestion as to follow King Eric and Queen Ariel's orders. However, they were so tired after the chase, that they agreed and stayed near the carriages while they watched the children play around. Soon in a few moments; under the warm sun and the cool breeze, they were out like a light.
As soon as they heard the guards snoring, Melody whispered "Now's our chance! Let's go!" Quietly, she and Ping opened the secret compartments under each carriage and took out the food. Mainard, Garrick and Azad handled the meat; Dianne, Malak and Radelle took the fish while Kathrin, Luciana and Jin took the fruits.
Making sure to be quiet as possible, the royal children made their way deep into the forest. As they continued to walk, Jin spoke up. "I hope we are doing the right thing." She explained worriedly. "I hate tricking the guards like this."
"Don't worry, Jin." Tracy assured her. "By the time the guards wake up, we'll be back her faster than they realise it." "You really think Lok and the Monsuno will be here?" Luciana asked Melody. "I'm sure." She replied. "This is the safest place for them to hide from people."
*Rustle~~*
The sound of something moving through the leaves made the children freeze in their tracks. "What's that?" Radelle asked. The rustling sound grew louder and it was heading towards them. "Whoever you are, come out!" Mainard called out. "We're not afraid of you, bandits!"
"Bandits?" A voice replied. "I prefer the term 'rogue'..." A large blue Jackal with a long feline tail and blue crystal spikes on its shoulders. The children gasped, it was Nite-Stone! "It's good to see you again, little ones." Nite-Stone spoke. "Though, we weren't expecting visitors."
Malak stepped forward. "We came to visit you," she explained. "and to thank you for saving us from those bandits." "We bought you something." She added, showing some of the fishes they brought. Nite-Stone looked surprised and sniffed at them.
"They do smell good..." The Jackal replied. "I'm surprised, you came all the way out here to see us?" "Of course!" Luciana added. "We want to know so much about you all, where you come from, what you can do, everything you know!!"
Nite-Stone stared at the excited princess and chuckled. "Well, I'm sure my brothers won't mind the company." He said. "Come, I'll take you to them." Excited, the royal children followed the Jackal as he led them through the forest.
A few moments later, they emerged from the edge of the forest and found the ocean right before them. It seemed that this is the place where Melody talked about. It was large and wide and to the left, she saw the jutting cliff that acted like a barrier of sort, where no one could see what was happening on the other side.
The children looked to the right to see the Blue-Moon Tribe waiting for them. Long-Fang, Boost, Glow-Blade, Neo Quick-Force, Evo, Babeon, Charger, Batteram, Mystic-Blade, Clubber and finally Lok; all of them were resting on the beach or playing around in the water.
Mystic-Blade seemed to be in meditation but as the children approached the Monsuno, he opened his eyes, smiled and spread his wings wide. "Grand Cheftain," he spoke. "it appears Nite-Stone has brought visitors." The Monsuno turned to see the children coming towards them with smiles on their faces.
"It's you, again." Lok spoke up, the White Bear stepping forward to the children. "I was hoping to see you again, young ones." Melody smiled. "We're glad to be here, Mr Lok." She replied. "Me and my friends have brought you something." The children each lowered the food to the Monsuno.
"You brought food for us?" Evo asked in surprise. "We did." Kathrin replied. "We thought we would be hungry after coming here from the sky and we wanted to thank you for saving us from those awful bandits." "We did our best to see what you like." She explained as she showed them some fruit from one of the bags.
Charger chuckled. "How kind of you, little sister." He spoke as he stepped forward. "Do you think I could have a taste?" "Of course, sir." Kathrin replied, smiling before offering a ripe mango to the Bull-Elk. Charger looked at the strange fruit curiously, sniffing at it before munching on it.
His eyes widened with delight! "Incredible!" He exclaimed. "It tastes like honey!" He turned to Babeon, Batteram and Clubber. "Brothers, come and taste what our little friend has brought for us!" Babeon and Batteram came up. "Are dese for us, mon?" The Baboon asked, looking at the fruit. Kathrin grinned. "Of course, help yourselves."
Batteram helped himself to some juicy oranges while Babeon tucked into a bunch of bananas. Even Clubber enjoyed the sweet bunches of grapes and apples immensely. “I never tasted anything so sweet before.” The Behemoth rumbled in pleasure. “Thank you for your generosity, young one.” Kathrin smiled and blushed a bit.
“Scccrrrkkkkeeeeee!!!!” A call of a bird sounded out, making everyone look up into the sky. Sky-Fall the Great Falcon was soaring low, landing on the beach. “You think you would have told me we’re having visitors?” He asked in amusement. “You already flown off.” Evo jokingly pointed out. “Besides, I think the children wanted to surprise us.”
Mainard and Azad took out two pieces of long steak, each lifting one high. “Here you go, Wolf!” Mainard called out to Boost, much to his surprise. “Try this on for size!” Boost’s eyes widened with delight at the sight and his mouth drooled with hunger. “Catch!” Mainard called out, tossing the steak high in the air and the Great Wolf caught it with his jaws!
Boost chewed and swallowed, and it was the tastiest steak he ever had. “Thank you, little brother!” Boost howled in approval, making Mainard smile. “Anyone else want some?” Azad offered, holding the other steak up. “I would like a taste, young one.” Lok replied, smiling.
“As-s-s will I.” Glow-Blade hissed. Long-Fang, Nite-Stone and even Mystic-Blade wanted some. The boys grinned and tossed them some steaks which they tucked in with pleasure. “Thank you for the meal, little ones.” Boost replied, graciously. “And please call me, Boost.” Mainard and Azad smiled, wondering if their new friends would like the steaks cooked and seasoned.
Dianne and Edgard offered some fish to Evo, the young man explained. “Here you go, miss bird! I hope you like fish.” The Blue Pheonix seemed to smile as Dianne tossed a piece of Northern Pike at her, who snatched it up in her beak and gobbled it up.
Evo enjoyed it immensely. “My favorite!” She screeched in pleasure. “Thanks for the fish!” The twins smiled widely and they offered more fish to Sky-Fall and Neo Quick-Force who accepted them with gratitude. Radelle looked around. “Where’s your friend?” She asked. “The giant shark with legs?”
“Deep-Six went out for a swim in the ocean.” Long-Fang replied as he munched on a steak. “He’ll be back, don’t worry.” “I’m already here!!” A voiced called from the ocean, where everyone saw Deep-Six emerge from the water and onto the shore.
Deep-Six shook himself, causing water to spray everywhere and making the children squeal as they got a shower. “Oh, I’m sorry!” Deep-Six apologized. “I didn’t know we would have visitors.” His glowing blue eyes widened when he saw the fish. “Is that salmon?” He asked, his large mouth watering.
Radelle grinned as she held up a large Norwegian Salmon. “Of course!” She replied, “Have some!” She tossed the fish into the Tiger-Shark's mouth and Deep-Six gobbled it up, licking his chops with delight. “Thank you, little one!” He replied. “That was delicious.” Radelle smiled at the Shark’s reaction
“Yes, thank you my friends.” Lok added. “We are grateful for your generosity.” “However, I am curious that you are willing to see us; most people would be frightened of seeing large beasts like us.” The White Bear explained. “Do you have any reason to be scared of us?”
Melody stepped forward, looking up at the Great White Bear. “Of course not.” She replied, smiling. “You saved our lives from those bandits, even though we were just strangers to you.” “You may be animals, but you have the intelligence and empathy of humans.” She explained. “We want to know more about you, that’s why we are all here.”
The Monsuno were moved by Melody’s explanation, the only humans who trusted and cared for them were Team Core-Tech. “Thank you for your honesty, little one.” Lok replied, gently. “Do you really wish to know more about us?”
Tracy and Melody sat down on the grass. “Yes, sir.” She replied. “Can you please tell us more about you?” “I believe the more we know about you, the better it is for all of us.” She added. Soon, all the other royal children sat on the grass too. They wanted to know more about their new friends.
“Please tell us, Sir.” Ping spoke up. “Where did you all come from and are there any more of you.” The Blue-Moon Monsuno looked at each other. “Well, young ones.” Lok replied as he sat down in front of them, the sunlight shining from his white fur. “I believe its time you all know our history.” “And please, just call me Lok.”
