This was a fun concept: basically, the story is that Xyk is prowling through a city park, when he happens upon a basketball court freshly covered in colorful children's chalk drawings. Seeing as it's deserted now (maybe this chalk fest was earlier that same day) he decides to grab a spare piece of chalk while no one's looking and add to the mosaic! I'm really happy with how this one turned out, and thanks go again go to Xyk for giving me such awesome ideas to work with.
p.s. Trying to draw like you don't know how is HARD when you actually do... c__c

Oh god, for the longest time, at Anthrocon, I used to take part in the "Iron Author" competition, the point of which is to intentionally write the worst story possible.
The trick to truly bad writing, though, is to write like you don't realize that you aren't very good at it.

Oh, this is lovely! I love all the bright, chalk drawings, and I think you actually did a really good job with emulating the look of childhood scribblings. It has a wonderfully loose, amateurish look, but with enough control to look really pretty. And, of course, some kids can be surprisingly good for their age, too. And it's really a lovely concept, too. Maybe it's just me, but it kind of makes me think, just a little bit, of Coyote the trickster. Maybe it's just the bright colors, and the little chalk coyote scrawled at his feet.
Wow. This is amazing. I want to ask if you really draw all the background cause' its just so damn close to perfect and nothing is perfect. Seriously - blown away.
The texture of the chalk, how well it blends with everything around it with the frequency and spacing between the drawings, the perspective, the different inking like patterns like the outline of the benches and wall with no outline for the wrought iron fence, etc, etc. Not to mention the actual character or focal point of the image. All lot of times many would usually say that the background has so much detail in it that it detracts attention from the foreground, depreciating it. I'd say in this case it goes so well with the overall style and feel to the piece (groovy, feel-good, and relaxed to me).
This is the best art in its style I've seen in years with its skill and already a personal favorite. Hell yes. This is awesome. Super job. =]

This is so intense and awesome <3
I bow down to your confidence in using the entire rainbow in a single piece, not to mention then having the chops to make it work and feel comfortable and pretty. I think if I tried this broad a palette, I'd wind up with a real eye-melter >_<

I can't stand to see people create art that will end up being destroyed, such as sand/ice sculptures and pavement chalk drawings. It's often a terrible loss and don't understand how one can create something beautiful only for it to be destroyed soon after. Anyway...
The drawing is a great idea and was wonderfully executed.

The colors are beautiful, and I adore the park, even though there isn't much of it to be seen (my town doesn't have one =[), so I think it's the concept of the park I'm liking xD
Also, I really hope I take some chalk with me this summer, there's a whole bunch of parking lots I could draw on, barely anyone's on them later in the evening.
