Two cuties!

Yess!!

Stan trying to hide being cute again. That sounds about right. I am sure that over his life Stan has learned that you must always be very careful when being nice. If people think you are nice, they will take advantage of you or make fun of you. So the only way he can ever be nice is if he has an excuse, just in case someone attacks him over it. So he does not do favors for anyone unless he can at least pretend there is something in it for him. And always tries to play off compliments as just silly jokes or random things. Rabbit knows this, but never says anything, that would be an 'attack' and make Stan uncomfortable.

So here he is, on a sunny spring morning, looking out at the fields now full of daisies and wildflowers. And Rabbit is walking about, his coat honey yellow in the fresh sunlight, looking just absolutely adorable. And Stan cannot resist just staring at him with adoration, blushing from how close the moment feels. And he just has to add a little something to make it perfect, just the one flower, stem tucked behind an ear.

But even in that perfect moment he cannot let go of his past, there is still a dark shadow behind him, still something he has to guard against. He has his excuse, just in case.
