Dexter's military-science corvette crashed on an unregistered inhabited planet with excessively saturated ammonia vapor. It smells unpleasant, yes, but you always can breathe fine through the only one filter. Dexter survived the crash, quickly patched up himself and established a mini-outpost in a strange cave, and called for help from the nearest ship to the planet. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting again. Well, let him wait, there they are already on the way

I love the stranded vibe.
There was a fan theory explaining Monster Hunter World: something with a colony of super-soldiers left stranded on a savage planet, after the first calamity nearly killed them all (there are extinction events in the series lore, often triggered by ancient dragons).
The big blue shining star they can see in the night sky, the one they made their emblem of, would be in fact a communication satellite, put there in orbit by their precursors, and forlorn reminder of their distant origin.
Anyway, I wish Dexter good luck :)
