Retal - Retal is the most populous landmass in the entire world, consisting of the countries of Everton, Fel’tari, and The Kingdom of Beasts. It also contains the infamous Deadlands. It has quite a temperate climate, with rolling grasslands and hills along with forests spread around, with a few jungles to the North near the equator. Located in the eastern hemisphere, stretching from Fel’tair in the southern hemisphere to The Kingdom of Beasts near the equator.Country
Everton - Everton is only a piece of Retal, full of large stretches of grasslands, hills, and a great forest. Bordered to the south by The Deadlands and to the north by the Kingdom of Beasts. The stretch of land is named after the largest city in the known world, Everton. It is known as the birthplace of Humans and is where they’ve thrived. But they are not alone.Cities
Everton - The largest city in the world, Everton is a hub of technology and trade. It is the most technological city on the planet and is known for its advancements in steam powered technology and the invention of Airships. However with being the largest city, Everton is also subject to plenty of crime. Around the outskirts of the walls, a net of seedy bars and blackmarket shops filled to the brim with thieves, murderers, and bounty hunters.
Pure Tide - While not as large and successful as Everton, Pure Tide is another well known wealth trade port. Protected by a barrier of rocks and small hills, that have been the doom of many ships, Pure Tide prides itself on having far less crime than the crowded Everton causing many sailors to skip Everton and head all the way around to Pure Tide. However the reason Pure Tide is so free of crime, is because its local government is corrupt to the very top.
The Bastion - The human city closest to The Kingdom of Beasts, the people of The Bastion have tasked themselves with protecting the rest of Everton from the deadly creatures that call the jungle home. Every one of its citizens are trained for combat or construction to further their efforts. With the help of the Dwarves from The Elder Keep, The Bastion has begun to build a mighty wall across the jungle’s border, connected by their fortress cities.
Scoundrel Port - While Everton is full of crime and Pure Tide corrupt, Scoundrel Port is where pirates and thieves rule. This fairly well known port is where many pirates call home, and is kept small by design. Off the coast is the City of Ancients, which has caused the ruling council of pirates to keep the port small and fairly quiet.
City of the Ancients - The fishmen known as the Sahuagin plot the downfall of the surface world in the depth of the ocean. City of the Ancients is mostly unknown to surface dwellers, and no one is quite sure how large or how advanced the city of the sea devils are. Scoundrel Port has been known to give an offering of gold to the Sahuagin in exchange for safe passage. The only structure of the city visible from the surface, is a single spire piercing the ocean’s surface.
Orc Tower - Not a city by choice, Orc Tower has the second highest population of Orcs in Everton. Orc Tower is filled with makeshift huts and tents full of orcs, all surrounding a great ruined tower in the center. It’s said that some foul magic in the tower, forces the Orcs to protect it. No one knows how or why the tower does this, but the leading theory is that The Rift Walker has something to do with it.
Fatal - On the border of Everton and the Deadlands sits the village of Fatal. The village serves as more of an outpost to warn the lands of humans of a coming invasion of undead.
The Elder Keep - The oldest of all the Dwarven cities of the world, The Elder Keep has been under siege for longer than many humans can remember. Under the ground, the undercity of the dwarves is constantly under attack from Goblins and Orcs. Due to this danger to their hold, the Dwarves very rarely venture from the mountain.Notable Locations
The Scaled Forest - Everton’s massive sprawling forest is home to many monsters and undiscovered ruins. Most land travelers go around the forest, rather than venture into it. The forest is also a great source of magical energy, being the home of the Draconic Tree.
The Draconic Tree - One of the many magic trees of the world, the Draconic Tree resides in the Scaled Forest of Everton, promoting an abundance of life in the region. Known as the draconic tree, due to the presence of the Kobolds dwelling around it’s trunk.
Queen Kraxrel’s Kingdom - The self proclaimed queen of the forest, Kraxrel rules over Everton’s Kobolds as a demi-god. Establishing their main camp around the base of the Draconic Tree, they ambush many travelers who dare to wander through the trees.
Abandoned Village - A noble from Everton had left the city in order to find his own and establish himself as a king. Many had flocked to the growing town and it was quickly establishing itself as a new power on the continent. However, a dark curse had fallen over the town and consumed the inhabitants. Many rumors of what could now dwell there circulate, from cannibals to the undead.
The Dragon Monument - In the waters past Pure Tide’s protective barrier, sits a massive statue of a dragon. No one knows who constructed it or why, but it seems to draw draconic beings to it. Wyverns, Dragons, Half-dragons, and Kobolds have been known to abandon everything to travel to the monument, only to leave once they have reached it.
The Cursed Island - Near to the Dragon Monument, sits a lone fort sitting atop an island. Not a ruin, but not inhabited. No one has seen anything enter or exit the fort, and many tales are told that the fort holds unimaginable amounts of treasure inside. But those who were brave enough to enter, never left.
