So what started as a tiny headshot on an earlier piece of mine has turned into a fully fledged character. This here is Victor, a fighting canine. As much as I love drawing my two buff dergs, I figured a furry change of pace was in order, so I whipped up this quick and dirty ref sheet.

(Bear with me here, there's a reason I draw and not write...)

A bit cold and distant, Vic was always a lone wolf growing up, only keeping in touch with a couple close friends. The incident that gave him the scar on his snout didn't help matters, and remains a touchy subject to this day. Victor took up fighting to cope with his pent up frustration over his lack of friends and life overall. But win or lose, his abrasive attitude kept competitors away from him after fights. Then he met Ralus after a local tournament. Despite tearing into Ral with all the derision he gives to everyone that wins against him, Ral took it all in stride, much to Vic's bewilderment. After cooling off, the two went out for drinks and eventually decided to be sparring partners. Victor's still a bit uneasy about his new dragon acquaintance, but who's to say. Anything can change with a bit of camaraderie.

Victor works as a cook in a diner whenever he isn't fighting. He loves the heat, so time spent near the ovens in the kitchen is time well spent for him. This is also why he wears a bulky sweater around. Even in the summer, Victor prefers to wear long-sleeved shirts and jeans. He gets weird looks, but a quick, intimidating glare gets onlookers to glance elsewhere.
