Garbonzo 2.0

The first remake of my Garbonzo costume, which I wore to Anthrocon 2010. The only thing I changed here from the original costume was the mask, which has been completely remade. I forgot the nose ring, and actually didn't notice until the Saturday of the convention, but I do intend to add it.

There will probably be a Garbonzo 2.5 or some such, as I currently have plans to completely redo the body and tail. Especially the tail - I am so sick of people stepping on that thing.

just a question, where do you find the long fur/hair at? it's so puffy and soft looking, it'd be great for feathering on legs and arms. even for hair

It's wefted Kanekalon, so basically I made it myself. Not soft at all though, I'm afraid - in texture it's similar to horsehair. Totally worth it for the look, though :D

The costume and mask are beautiful as usual, but I also LOVE those shorts. Did you make those? The variation on the colored sections looks hand dyed.

I altered an existing pair of shorts. The patches are actually some swatches that I found at a local fabric store in a random quilt stuff bin.

Oh man, i've always loved the original Garbonzo... that was the first time i'd seen your work, and it was a very great first impression :D

People step on it, really? I never had problems like that with Kiki's tail, but maybe that one is so big people can't overlook it. Beautiful, I love how the colors work together. Is there a place where I can still see the old mask?

Well, mostly Mateo (my husband) steps on it. Partly because he walks close to me, and partly because I apparently stumble in front of him all the time.
Also the tail swishes a lot, which looks cool, but it finds itself suddenly underfoot.

Love the skin-tight clothing, rather than the poofy fullbody suits that makes people look rediculous, as well as the longer hair. Not to mention how realistic the whole get-up is.

That costume has always been on of my favorites. This new mask takes my breath away. Too few costumers in the fandom make true masterpieces. You are one of them. This is stunningly beautiful.
