I've seen a FFVII parody video where Sephiroth Crescent descends from the sky... using his own sword to play violin in "One Winged Angel".

(Yes, "Crescent". Professor Hojo may have sired Sephiroth, but both societal traditions and common decency agree that that his mother's last name should be used.
Besides, that name sounds better)

I had merely been reminded of a humorous experience I wished to share. But if it actually has relevance... so much the better!

One winged angel is a parodistic merging of trumpet march and epic music that clashes with itself. It is used to show the nature of Sephiroth driven mad.

3AM Violin Practice is badly butchered basic violin excercises strung together in a crescendo of epic coherence to show the genius behind a tortured brain. They are (as far as i am concerned) opposites.

Showing a parody of Sephiroth as what the appearance suggests (elegance and grace) by having him play that on a violin. But using the joke that he does so with the unwieldy daikatana he usually uses is neat because it is silly levels of edgy.

In this case i was showing the beauty of Philomela playing a cello... except she is playing a violin score on a cello... which is just silly... and... well... 3AM Violin Practice is especially silly to have played by her, because while it does have pauses every 1 minute... it only works when you hear it all together. And she need to be winded every 1 minute. A process which takes an hour. So she would need about 16 hours to complete playing 3AM Violin Practice. And it would be horrible to hear it all soaced apart

The fact one piece which shows the silly edgyness of the character being played in a silly edgy way is funny in the same way a piece which shows the beauty and genius emerging from clumsiness is played in a clumsy way by something which is the product of genius and beautiful.

I doubt Sephiroth was ever fully sane.
A sire who's probably got a family history of mental disorders, a parentless socially-sterile upbringing, Jenova cells within him since infancy, wielding a sword that's a prison for demons... and the sudden utter humiliation of discovering who he really was.
That man never stood a chance.

It's no wonder he's maintained that fantasy of Jenova being some sort of Ancient.
