I wound up staring at this piece much longer than I should have--and that is very much a compliment!
What I at first mistook as reflection on the shield wound up being refraction (and it's possible that isn't it either), there's just this weird disjointed allure to the whole piece. There's also soooooo many tiny little details going on here that are simply delightful; from the scrollwork on the gorget and pauldrons, all the way down to the miniscule scales on the character's chest and inner thighs. Hell even the far background structures are well detailed.
Overall, good stuff! Very impressed <3

Haha I'm glad it gave you so much to process xD And it's funny you mention the disjointed allure, cause when I was making the background and incorporating it into the shield I ended up making that kinda weird, jagged compositional shape that really tickled the brain for me.
Thank you <3
Thank you <3
I've had this picture open for a few days trying to think of what to comment on in particular. Bruvelighe definitely said part of it! The motion, the coloration, the armor and outfit, the way that the town fades around the guardian, the beautiful detailing. Truly an amazing work of art!
