The younglings heart began to beat at the rate of speeds matching of a spaceship, he was far past worried now. For he heard the talltale footsteps of a lumbering beast, one that would eat him. A dreaded Akul.
Caution was all he had to his thoughts, but curiosity began to curse his mind. Steadily the young lonely Togruta peared with weakend eyes across the path. To his fortune it was a small Akul, but its errie purple furs sent larger chills through the base of his spine. The crack of wood caught the silent ear of the wind, at once the youngling dove his body beside the tree curling his small frame against it. A single toe, a toe, had cracked a small root of the wood and now the beast began to drew closer to investigate.
"Stay still, calm. He cant see me, he will go away" the mental voice of the lone youth began to repeat, a mantra for protection playing through his mind. Steadily he began to calm himself again, had his full attention been drawn he would have noticed the new chill, as though the breeze around the treetops themselves was blowing through his skin, or that the Akul was leering directly to his defensless form within the turu-grass.
Nay, not look to him, but through him as if he were not there. Slowly, the off colored beast began to sniff about, before turning its clawed limbs away, leaving the Togruta youngling to continue his mantra through the night in his mind till he finally surrendered to a long and silent nights sleep. Safe, for the moment...
