Background: Not much is really known about Bloody Branelan aka Rat Fiend or any number of his other aliases beyond some basic knowledge. He is seemingly an immortal malevolent entity with ties to a number of different demons, spirits and other arcane entities of great and terrible power. He has made a number of appearances in literature and imagery related to the Occult throughout history for centuries, if not millenia. Branelan has often made his presence known to those who seek arcane or occult knowledge, whether they are people attempting to become sorcerers, those who might be looking to serve some greater power or those simply seeking to understand the ‘truth’ of the world. He granted these people methods of connecting to such ancient forces to achieve what they seek but often at times with a price. The sinister figure has helped in the growth of chaotic cults and development of malicious magicians alike. Of course this has also seen him in opposition to more good aligned magic users and groups. Branelan mostly tried to stay out of direct conflict with opposing forces but he can if he has to or when as he has put it, is ‘feeling in the mood’.
Powers and Abilities: Vast Mystical Knowledge and Prowess- Branelan possesses a vast knowledge of magic and mysticism and has displayed an equal level of prowess when it comes to such arts. He has used this knowledge often to aid magic users and certain occult groups for centuries, mentoring and guiding those who seek such knowledge or power. He displayed his own prowess of inumeral different spells on different occasions with notable ones being conjuring spirits, elemental manipulation, magical energy manipulation, curses, teleportation and much more.
Extraplanar Communication- Often serving as a facilitator for entities who can not pass between different planes of existence as easily as himself, Branelan is able to communicate with different entities from these different planes. This ability and the knowledge of how to gain/use it, he often imparts to different people who would like to make contact with such beings. Of course for others using his methods, their success rate and mental stability varies compared to himself.
Extensive Shapeshifting- Though comfortable with his chosen appearance, Branelan is capable of some impressive feats of shapeshifting. Sometimes he uses it to make himself appear more appealing to others who might have an interest in expanding their own mystical prowess. Other times he has taken on smaller, more unassuming forms to escape his enemies or has gained more terrifying and nightmarish visages to intimidate them. There is no known limit to his shapeshifting beyond what he has allowed others to know.
Regeneration- While trying his best to avoid physical combat, Branelan has been damaged or physically harmed by his less-than-restrained enemies but has regenerated from such harm. Lost limbs and scarred flesh has been gruesomely but easily restored when he has been harmed. Like much about it, there is no known limit to his regeneration.

Another villain for the Dairy Dame setting and one inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Dreams in the Witch House. This is Bloody Branelan aka Rat Fiend, a powerful force in the realm of supernatural villainy. Branelan drew inspiration from Brown Jenkin, the rat-like familiar of Keziah Mason in Dreams in the Witch House along with influence of Klarion the Witch Boy from DC Comics and some depictions of the Devil as a deal maker. I really wanted to try and make a character that was really creepy looking in appearance and hopefully I succeeded. I wanted to get this guy done today given his inspiration from Dreams in the Witch House, since today(May 30th) is Walpurgis Night or Walpurgisnacht which is the day that where the climax of the story happens. Thought it would be fun. Please Enjoy.
