Dial was offered a chance to observe a rare event partially related to some research he was working on. It so happened that a meteor shower was supposed to happen at about the same time as an aurora borealis. The blue protogen sprung at the chance to witness such an event. He asked if he could bring some friends along for the trip, but he was only allowed to bring one extra. He decided to bring Lyra along, since she loved night sky views, seeing this meteor shower would be right up her alley. They had to head far up north, where there was still plenty of snow on the ground. As they were making the trek through the small town that was one of the best places to see the event, Lyra asked Dial "Are you going to record this?" Dial looked back at Lyra, "Of course I will, I want to review this later to see if anything extra interesting happened that I don't notice on my first viewing." After a minute or two, Lyra spoke again. "Are you going to record in there" tapping the Protogen's face visor. "Some of it, yeah. It’s easier for me to examine it when it’s all recorded on my system. But I brought another camera to record it." Reaching into his bag, Dial pulled out a camera and a tripod. The protogen's visor suddenly started to show something in the center of it, a little clock ticking down from 15 minutes. "Well, thats the 15-minute warning, the shower will start soon. We better hurry." The duo picked up their pace.
It took them 8 minutes to get to what they believed to be the best place to view this event. Once there they set up the tripod and camera and started to record. "They are going to love this when we get home" Dial said, his face the only thing seen at the start of the recording as he was adjusting the camera. "Alright, its set" The protogen started to back away to reveal a quaint view of the town they were in the aurora already in full effect. The night sky was glowing green a few shades darker than Lyra's own glowing green hair. A few minutes later, the meteor shower began. It was a glorious sight, the tails of the meteors dyed green in the glow of the aurora. Lyra was taken aback by such a beautiful view. The protogen's eyes shifted to look at the Dragoness's tail, noticing her stars were glowing brighter than he had ever seen them before. Looking up, he saw tears of joy in the corner of Lyra's eyes. "Well come on then" the protogen began, "Lets share that happiness with the rest of the gang. " Dial and Lyra turned around to face the camera. Dial put one hand around Lyra, raising his other hand in a peace sign. Lyra raised both arms in joy, before quickly lowering both of them onto Dial, along with all of her weight, to hug the unexpecting Protogen. The two of them slipped and fell to the ground, laughing all the way. Dial got up to continue to internally record the event, while Lyra just stayed on the ground, staring up in awe. This was a night neither would forget for the rest of their long lives.
Dial finally in a piece with another character, and surprisingly it isn't Rao he is with. This YCH was just too perfect for Lyra, and I felt Dial could be worked in as well. I loved how it turned out.
