After 8 years of doing art and drawing furries, I finally have a solid fursona.
Finally! I can represent myself in art, do cute little doodles, and share more of me in my work now that I have gotten to a place where I am now~
I have a history of just absolutely hating to draw myself or ever really have to deal with how I look, both as a trans person, and someone with self-esteem issues. And now, I have to say it’s pretty incredible where I have gotten now transitioning, and also getting more secure in nailing down a design that I feel actually represents me and does me the justice I would like.
For one, aside from artist struggles of not being sure about my style, I was sort of insecure about the fact that I connected myself to being a fox so much, because there’s like “oh so many fox fursonas and it’s so basic!”, but now going from just always thinking it had to be a red fox, to a designing based on a grey fox now which is far more representative of my home (shoutout to my roots of central and north America), and having more confidence in general, hell yea I like my sona!
Foxes aren’t even as common as I thought they were, it turns out, much more so grey foxes lol.
