Patreon Activity - April 2021
For probably the first time since I started my Patreon, I failed to reasonably deliver everything that was promised as part of it. Still, I did manage to produce some of the best of the best I can do as you can see in the preview!
I can’t really hide April was a really tough month on me and it made accomplishing my usual stuff difficult. There were two big things that happened that made it a struggle.
Halfway through the month I fell into severe, morbid depression. I felt like I had such a lack of money to do what I wanted to do but I was at capacity for work. I couldn’t work anymore than I already was to earn more. My social media wasn’t growing like my friends and other artists I was watch so easily to expand my reach. I could count the time I spent playing videos games on one hand so I couldn’t cut that out for more work like I know some people can. I wanted to do more work on my Minecraft modification as well but again, couldn’t afford the time. I was worked to the bone and felt trapped and unable to do what I wanted to do financially. Eventually I toned the depression down a bit and limped through the rest of the week.
Then there was a significant death in the family, and I was consumed with grief for a week on top of the depression above. And the depression was made worse while away for the funeral because I was seeing family successes that I wasn’t having.
Once I got home, I sat and made a plan for what I could do to take back control of my life. The changes I made have helped substantially. They include going to bed at a certain time, waking up early at same time each day and going most of my core days through a set schedule (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday). I cook a proper meal, get house work done, do my Patreon admin work, and even have an hour set aside for Minecraft modding those days! And then I start my stream work.
Another thing I did was overhaul how I handle writing posts for pictures, which was another bleed of time and frustration. Finally, before bed I do some personal things to make my soul feel better; usually personal doodling.
With these life changes I’ve been making I’ve been happier and more productive, so going into May things should go pretty well. I expect to get a lot of really nice things done!
I have been developing as an artist, particularly with my macro art as I closely reference Stampy and Scream’s works to get ideas for handling environments.
Onwards to a good and wonderful May!
Thank you again my Patrons for supporting me! ^.^
The theme for most of the doodles this month was characters swapping outfits with each other.
