'A weary Orc traveling alone seeks shelter from the unforgiving sun in some long forgotten ruins"
This is more of a work in progress (hence the rather shoddy background) I'm experimenting with making characters and using lights. Got my work cut out for me.

You are too modest.
You have already mastered the setting of light points and the basics that you have acquired over the past 15 years with Poser will be very useful to you.
The skin reliefs like sweat doesn't seem like a mystery to you either.
In short, for a WIP work, I find it exceptional.
Where you are amazing is that you have managed to keep your style (light, colors) by switching from an old renderer to Iray. I immediately feel ridiculous in front of you xD
I can't wait to see more.

I'm gonna have to agree on this. And I remember when you started using Daz Studio, Ad-games. And as I've said before, you have surpassed me in many ways long ago.
I still struggle with lighting up scenes and I have been using Daz Studio for over 10 years now! I guess some of us are slower learners than others.
