From the news post for this day: "This is a different take on Jude. Somewhere in my SciFi universe, is a world of the Rattus. Judas Wriley is just your average Catechumen training to be a full-fledged Zoa. Needless to say, his hot temper and idle words tend to do more damage to than good for the Empire."
This was based on an early version of my scifi mythos. Imagine something akin to Star Wars (with its caste of superpowered defender knights), joined with the sense of exploration that comes with Star Trek all mixed together with a palatable worldview.
Zoa were like the Jedi, just without the pretense that they had to avoid 'worldly attachments' like love and close friendships. Catechumen were those in-training to be zoa. They protected their homeworlds from negatively-aligned counterparts who sought to enslave under the disguise of offering freedom. The Empire was a genuinely benevolent organization, too.
This particular Jude was really a blending of the familiar ratty with the personality of another character of mine.
Yes, I love historic Christian terms.
