During the American Punitive expedition into Mexico.

Lucas spent a fair portion of his life with the outlaw Zeke Henderson (My other character) Long past his time as an outlaw looking up to him as somewhat of a mentor. By the time Lucas was in his late teens, Zeke had grown old. Some time before passing, he demanded that Lucas swore to not join the Military and live a peaceful life. Against Zeke's wishes however, Lucas Joined the U.S. Army, just in time for World War One. He was deployed to take part in the expedition to bring down Pancho Villa in Mexico rather than fight overseas.
