Daaaaaaamn!!

Really damn cool and atmospheric piece!

Awesome picture. But that piano is probably ruined. Especially a bosendorfer.

"Stop! Wait a minute! Stop it, girl! What do you think you're doing? That's no way to treat an expensive musical instrument!"

That particular Bosendorfer acquired a nasty scratch across one of its legs, less than a week into it settling into its home. She carved GOD DAMN IT with a key, scratching through the lacquer, right beside the scratch...all the way down to the subvarnished heartwood of the leg, and left the wounded letters raw to patina with time.

Donna's just a little hardcore, and while I imagine most Bosendorfers would be ruined by a concert in the rain, *that* one is only going to sound more pained and twisted and fascinatingly off-balance despite careful tuning corrections, for the water damage. Nothing on earth will sound like that piano, look like that piano, or absolutely horrify an onlooker in the know like that piano.

Donna is polyamorous, I note, and one of her primaries also owns a small collection of pianos, between his recording studio and multiple homes. They are, of course, kept up beautifully...and he took one look at her punked-up gouged leg, his teeth ground sideways, and after he stopped thinking about it in terms of repair bills, he managed simply, "It's utterly you now."
