Dragon's Lair for the NES isn't as unfaithful to the arcade game as people say. It's still a button memory game, it's just there's more buttons to remember and you're not prompted about what buttons to push. The game only breaks this with the end boss. There seems to be no patterns with the dragon and Dirk moves like an old lady with arthritis.

Cool pic! I fed many a quarter to the Dragon's Lair machine in my neighborhood. It cost twice as much to play as the other games, but that didn't matter. I never knew Don Bluth worked on it, but now of course it seems obvious.

Ahhhh, I remember playing this in arcades ages ago. Well, maybe only 20 or so years ago.

ANYWAYS I remember plunking many quarters into this game. And dying. Oh, so much dying. :P

You can buy all those Laserdisc games on DVD now. (Dragon's Lair games, Space Ace, and the old video shooters).

Epic capture of the Bluth game art. Knew exactly what it referenced without reading taglines. Lol I just hated how many quarters that machine ate over the years.

I used to love playing this game in the arcade! That and Space Ace which followed it and the the western game some other company released called Badlands. These were crazy cool and wild when they first came out.

I loved that game! Though, I also loved Space Ace too! Have all three (DL one, DL II, and SA) for the CD-i. Along with Hotel Mario, Zelda Wand of Galmon, Zelda's Adventures, and Link and the Faces of Evil. (Though they are not as bad as people make them out to be.)

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Once you finish it, it doesn't have a whole lot of replay value - you've probably already died in every way possible just getting through it the first time. Poor Dirk! ;)
