he has a lot of money because he's a child from a family of big rail engine business owners. He was never interested in the business and never really had any aspiration to become anything, he was totally disinterested from the beggining of his life. So he was arranged into marriage with the child of another family big in the same area of business to conjoin wealth and resources. Still hasn't happened because of financial problems on johannes' family side. still he is okay living in a small shack in the city reading books all day, but also hopes to finally reunite with his fiance in marriage.
