What if the 1957 Mopars had not been Released Until 1960?
As eveyone familiar with older cars know, 1958 was the year the American car makers got onboard with equipping new cars with dual headlights.
Dual headlights became really popular that year, and it was the first year dual headlights were legal in all 50 states.
The 1955/1956 automotive styles shown here were no longer in production when the newer models went into production in 1957...Thus IRL, the cars shown here were no longer in production for the 1958 model year, and never came off the assembly line with dual headlights.
I doodled around on some 1956 Mopar car pictures with my idea of what could have been possible for the 1958 Mopar models with dual headlights if the 1955/1956 designs had continued in production through the 1959 model year...All that though is speculation and guessing, but did turn up some interesting results.
In reality, the designs in the pictures I doodled on were replaced by the newer models after 1956. The the cars in this posting never existed in the altered way I have them presented here.
I was pleased with what I've depicted for the possibilities of the 1958/1959 Chrysler, and 1959 Plymouth with the redesigned grill, blended in tailfins and fender mounted sideview mirror.
However, I do have to say the possibility for the 1958/1959 Dodge looks strange, though still kinda cool.
