Mikala the love wolfess may seem like the queen of nice when she's in this form but actuality the 'always sunny and friendly' persona is a facade, she is actually cruel and manipulative like this...the 'negative energy' talk she throws around is a nod to how to actually defeat love-animals and to defeat her, basicaly hitting her with concentrated blasts of negative energy is enough to gradually weaken her and any head love-animal over time, also it's explained in her origin story. Even though she says 'love-animals aren't human', she technically was or still-is one on the inside, specifically the grand-daughter of a priest who wanted to channel the powers of these ancient love-creatures as a means of getting her lover to fall for her since she felt like nobody loved her no matter how she tried, however in doing so she accidentally awoke the spirit of the then original queen love-wolf who was a Naximialian spirit (an evil anthro animal spirit that pretty much tries force love on others and tries to brainwash the person they're possessing into liking becoming a 'love-animal' by attemptiong to extract their negativity from them), the love-wolf queen's spirit took a liking to her, she coaxed Mikala into thinking she was helping her when she really was looking for a means to take over her body, which she did,..possessing her, possessing her and corrupting her into becoming a love-wolf queen like her, brainwashing her into accepting her fate and forcing the mindset she had into her, basically the 'love and nice/love and friendly is good and trying to fight back equals negativity and negative energy = bad' mindset. She didn't want to accept it but was forced into it, and she cannot control her 'love-wolf' side. The 'lovey-dovey/nice is good' persona she has as love-wolf is a facade. It is explained deep down she hates the love-wolf persona and everything she represents, hence why she always seems to be holding back everytime she is about to come near someone.
It is also explained in the lore those with negative energy based magic or psychic abilities can reach out to her and help her, they can help her to overcome the dark love-crazed urges of the love-wolfess who took over her and also do the same to her 'pups' (the pups in the lore are always depicted as young adult or teen heroes who were captured and brainwashed into being her children).
This love-wolfess isn't as powerful as she tries to make herself out to be it is proven her love powers don't have any effect on people who can resist her for long periods of times or those who already have a loving relationship with someone else, she cannot fully change the victims that she captures as in the case of her numerous lovers/boyfriends who actually resisted her powers due to not loving her back, also negative energy when concentrated can become a powerful form of energy blasting that can weaken her substantially, she gets weaker the more you use it on her to the point that she will no longer be able to hypnotize anyone or use her love powers on them, even if she is able to..at that one point they will be weak and of no use as one more will be enough to make her gooey body slowly harden making it difficult for her to move. As it slowly hardens, taking on a stone-like texture she will become a statue love-wolf before crackling apart and exploding into pieces as the heart symbol on her bely dims out completely, the heart will also shatter just like the rest of her body.
