I always imagined Vasiliy to be living in some crappy apartment because he was more interested in showing off when he was outside of his work environment than when he was working... and he would be working whenever at home.

For what it is worth it has got lots of lighting and it is cheap. Exactly what Vasiliy needs.

So, of course Galatea, living with him, would be sharing his apartment.
