Concerns of the monster and it's origin were already bad, but Ashley's return to the Asylum was another strike to the heart.
"Woah, hold on." Nurse Doris said as she got in Ashley's way. "You can't go see her."
Ashley looked at her confused, she had just got to the doorway, she could see Claire, drinking water with her plushies. "Why not? We're friends, I'm suppose to look out for her."
"Yeah, but you did lose her the other day." Doris said, "The head doesn't trust you after that."
"But you said she's run away several times before." Ashley said, "How am I different? If anything I did better because I found her without calling the police."
"Not really that different, but that's the problem." Doris said, "You were suppose to be better than the other times." She raised a hand before Ashley could say more, "Look if you don't like it, then you should take it up with her uncle, he works here and he pays the bills so she can be cared for here. Makes sure she drinks her water and what not."
"Maybe I will." Ashley said, "Where is he?"
"Too busy to answer anyone." Doris said, "He's got other clients and has already arranged a shuttle for Claire to go get an MRI today. That's why I said to call him."
"Fine, I will." She turned around and walked away, walking outside with frustration. "How'd she even know I lost Claire for a minute?"

Later in town, Ashey sitting with Torrent in the city, "...So, I'm not allowed near her after all that."
"Yeah, even I gotta say that stinks." Torrent said, "How'd they even know you lost her? I thought you were going to keep that a secret."
"I did." Ashley sighed and leaned back on the bench, looking to the sky with her ears down. "Hey, is there any way you could check on her? With your powers?"
"That's not how it works." Torrent said, "I mean, yea, I saw her, talked with her, I know her now, kind of, but I can't just use my power to spy on her."
"Why not?" Ashley asked, "Have you ever tried?"
"How would it even work?" Torrent said, "It's already hard to explain how I know someone and how to reach them, like a built in GPS."
"Well, how would you imagine it?" Ashley said, "Maybe you could start there."
"Maybe... Looking at her from a distance?" Torrent said, "like from across the street..." Then she looked done one of the city streets, "She's not really moving, but she's over there. I'd say beyond those buildings, about five blocks away."
Ashley lifted her head, and looked to the tigress and her cotton-candy-colored hair. "Yeah?... and?..."
"... That's it." Torrent said, "What else did you expect?"
"Anything more." Ashley said, her ears going back, "Try closing your eyes."
"Ugh," Torrent's tail flickered and whipped as she closed her eyes, "... Yeah, I can't see anything now, in fact I even see less." Then her ears flickered, "Now would you stop shouting?"
Ashley tilted her head, "I'm not shouting..."
"Wait a minute." Torrent said, "There's two voices... A girl screaming and shouting angry... and..." She opened her eyes, and could see it all. "Someone's trying to kidnap Claire, and they're armed."
