King Conrad was once a great man, one of the most powerful, brave and skilled warriors to ever walk the land, he is today however, a very different man. His lineage can be traced back a 1000 years, to the times when Giants still walked the earth and the construction of the first settlements. He conquered his crown at the mere age of 26, after he lead 10 year long rebellion that crushed the previous tyrannical Royal family's power hold. Once the previous rulers had been dethroned Conrad ordered for them all to be killed, to the last woman and child. Things seemed well at first but the people soon discovered that they had just exchanged one tyrant for another, perhaps worse. Conrad appears a good and generous enough monarch in public, however behind closed doors it is completely different story. King Conrad has a fiery, violent temper, and being the giant that he is, he has became the terror of those who serve directly under him. It is whispered that he once lifted and threw an unruly horse into a rack of pikes, and that he once crushed the skull of one of his Generals with one hand, helmet and all. He also hides a obsessively lecherous nature, his unquenchable sexual appetites have become the stuff of legends, and nightmares. He surrounds himself with pretty young men and women and demands a different concubine every evening, some of whom are changed forever after spending the night in his company. His wife the Queen Arianna, who he married only for the sake of tradition and to continue the lineage, is kept hidden away and powerless, only emerging from her private life when she gives birth to a new heir.
King Conrad is especially obsessed with the Knight Reinfred of the Lake, whom he Knighted himself and put under his direct service. Reinfred has politely refused the King's advances thus far, his status as a Knight giving him the leverage to be able to do so. The King however will not be refused and still continues to seek the man's company at every chance, sometimes flying into private fits of rage when he is denied by his favourite Knight.
