During the Vietnam war where military tacticans were still trying to understand how best to utilize the foxtrots. In a dense jungle environment like Vietnam it soon became clear that the use of Foxtrots in these environments was ill advised. Relegating them AOEs without thick vegetation. This usually meant convoy escorts or even the odd search and rescue, but an all important secondary objective soon came to the forefront. Logistics, the enormous sizes allowed Foxtrots to carry objects that would typically require helicopter lifting or dismantleing. For the early and middle stages of the war, most heavy equipment was simply carried in a Foxtrot's thick canvas pack. Beforelong this means of transportation was deemed inadequate and an order for a modular Foxtrot backpack was put out. BAE systems was ready to fill the void, and by midway through the war the first itteration of the MUTTS had been delivered.

This is a really cool idea for a world with macros in it. Would make it cheaper to deploy units in the zones AND give the Foxtrots some heavy but flexible support.
