"Excuse me, sir? Excuse me? Could you spare a gold coin for a poor starving kobold? Sir? Sir? Please sir! Me and my brothers have been starving for the past two weeks, won't you spare a single gold coin?"
The annoying shrill voice of tiny kobold beggars had been practically ever-present since Karn entered the poorer part of the city. They would run up to him one at a time, blasting his perception with a flurry of motion and a cacophony of pleading words which had been rather difficult to ignore. Still, the warlock was in public so instead of using his dark magic to tear them apart he had to settle for shooing them away but this one... This one was persistent, far too much so perhaps - following the mage past the city limit and out into the wasteland beyond it, still prancing about and complaining about his unlucky lot in life.
"Sir?" The little pesky creature ran up directly to Karn now, tugging at his robs with its feeble, greedy little hands. "Sir, just one gold coin, that's all I ask."
With a deep sigh, Karnagh stopped dead in his tracks turning around ever so slowly as the Kobold relented from his robes, slouching down further as his piercing green gaze met the kobold's he almost hissed in annoyance.
"Your persistence would almost be admirable if you weren't such an utterly annoying wretch." Karnagh grumbled, hastily pulling out his coinpurse and shuffling through it, still not breaking eye contact as he glowered at the kobold, his fingers resting on two coins. Slowly taking them out he returned his purse to his robes and betwixt his 2 digits rested 2 peculiar looking silverish coins, which Karnagh quickly threw towards the kobold with no hesitation.
"There. Like pearls before the swine. Now BEGONE!" Karnagh said, turning around again as he began to hurriedly walk away from the mithering kobold.
No sooner had the coins hit the ground, than the little kobold was already upon them - pouncing and and greedily scooping the meagre riches up in his tiny hands. "Oh thank you! A thousand times thank you, noble sire. Divines bless your kind heart!" The kobold exclaimed, already finding a nice rock to hide behind and inspect his newest acquisition. In his hands were two silverish-looking coins. "Cheapskate..." The little reptiloid grumbled. "Couldn't even bother to scrounge anything more than two measly silv-" His annoyed whispered were cut short as the kobold inspected the coins further and found that they were not silver at all! In fact, these weirdly-shaped coins were like nothing he'd ever seen before.
Was this some sort of trick? The kobold glanced at the warlock's back, scowling and squeezing the supposed 'coins' in his fist. "You cheap ol' bastard!" He exclaimed all pretence of a pleasant disposition completely gone from his gold. "Take your worthless trinkets and stow them up yer arse!" With a frustrated grunt, to kobold would reel an arm back and toss the two electrum piece directly for the back of Karnagh's head before turning the other way.
No sooner had the coins been pelted toward the warlock's head his hands stuck out, stopping them midair with a deft mage hand as he returned them to his grasp, eyes agape as he slowly turned around yet again. Shaking with rage and twitching an eye he rolled his wrist as a blast of powerful magic shook the ground, dust being rolled away in a shockwave as the Kobold, turning around to investigate the blast suddenly found himself unable to move. Stood still where he was, watching as Karnagh began to storm over to him, glaring as he rocked his arms back and forth, fists balled in his hand.
"You contemptible, snivelling little varlet. You DARE refuse MY generosity after you waste my valuable time and effort pestering me all the way from Kence?!" Karnagh roared, pointing his sharp metal finger at the kobold, poking his snout rather painfully as he ranted. "Your folly will be your last regret, you foolish knave."
Raising his hand, narrowed eyes locked into the kobold's fearful gaze, the warlock began to chant, an unearthly rumbling beginning to sound as he shifted his fingers into rather unnatural positions, a cold sensation beginning to emerge from behind the kobold, not that he could see.
A sensation of utter terror cascaded through the kobold's body as his eyes went wide. Every instinct compelled the little creature to move, yet not a single muscle obeyed him anymore. Completely paralysed, unable to even scream, the kobold would feel a chilling touch on his shoulder.
The next second a slowly shifting tentacle crawled into his vision, then another would lap against his thigh, on more curling its way under his arm as a writhing mass of them would slowly wrap around him, gripping his tight as he would finally feel the effects of paralysis ending. Immediately he would begin violently thrashing about but it was far too late, the grip on his body was far too tight.
"Enjoy your stay, wretch..." The warlock cackled. "You WON'T be leaving~"
And with a single tug, the tiny lizard would find himself pulled through a dimensional rift of some sort, an ethereal, glowing rim that separated his world from whatever hell he was being thrust into. He would emerge on the other side. The binds that held him would lash out, flinging him out into a surprisingly spacious dark cavern.
"ACK!" The kobold would exclaim as he smacked against the firm ground and immediately jumped back up, looking around at the near-infinitely spanning flat ground and a messy, wrinkly ceiling that seemed to shift ever-so-subtly with every move. "Where the hell did that geezer t-" The kobold didn't get to finish his sentence as the pungent stench in the air finally go his notice. Wincing and whining, he grabbed his snout, trying to block out the foul odour to little avail, the air was permeated with a potent ever-present scent of sweat.
Dusting off his hands, Karnagh leaned down, one hand on his chin.
"Now... Which one did I send you to... I think it's... This one!" He exclaimed, scrunching his left foot inside his boot as he lightly hovered his dirty toes above the worn insole. With a chortle, he began to slowly lower them, making sure to be very slow and deliberate as the fleshy ceiling above the kobold began to rather quickly descend. Palid walls of flesh closing in on the tiny beggar whom was too perturbed by the odour to do little more than struggle in place.
"I bet you wish you took that electrum now, fool..." Karnagh taunted, not that the kobold could hear as he desperately tried to crawl his way to freedom, the 5 wide toes overhead descending further as he hopelessly scampered along the endless valley of blackened stains, pressed deep into the insole of the boot. Some seemingly recent victims as they retained some semblance of their look, squashed flat and splayed out into the insole fabric before being sealed to their fate inside the evil warlock's footwear, some older and having been walked on for such a long time little more remained than a black silhouette of a person if they were lucky, but mostly just faded halves and quarters.
And soon, the kobold would join them as Karnagh's foot suddenly slammed down, blotting out all meagre light from the arcane enchantments trapping the kobold in the boot as the wrinkly sole overhead vacuum sealed him into the smelly fabric, immense weigh pressing him down as he was unable to move or breathe or struggle, his bones groaned and organs strained as he felt on the verge of popping like a grape, yet it never came.
Karnagh leaned onto his toes as he began grinding his foot against the floor, not feeling anything but the dust in his boots scatter around as he shifted his weight onto the balls of his feet.
"Cry, beg, scream all you want wastrel. Your anguish shall only fuel your torment." Taunted the warlock, savagely laughing as he leaned.
"Now.... Where was I..."
