Time for some actual book concept art, which is... actually pretty fun???
So, you all may remember the designs for my four characters (Hotaru, Aria, Mica and Boris; check out the post here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41065165/ ) for their rolls in my mothers book series, The 8th Power; well, I mentioned that Mica is what is known as a Turned, which is basically what we might call a shapeshifter but with magic (which is the easiest explanation I can think of at the moment :'D)
Well, of course Mica isn't even close to the only Turned, and I was allowed to play with the Turned forms of both her and one of the MAIN book characters, Breein! While my little quad of babies will only appear for a few chapters(maybe, like, 2 or 3 I think?), Bri here is not only one of the main characters, her home planet is that of Dessess! Which is super cool on a multitude of levels, though I've read her original 'death' before the current point in the books and it's... depressing. (Thanks mom!) (As for the death thing, it's... a long story. I won't say a word. 😂)

Anyway, my mom is pretty much letting me go wild with concepts for Dessess alone, and since these two are /currently/ the main two who are Turned, I got to play with their Turned forms 👀
The main form of the Turned is a wolf-like creature, but since it's an Alien planet, it's not a wolf as we know it. These creatures are generally massive, and while they have similar bone structure, not all look the same! But general features I've cooked up are that they have different bone/muscle structure in the legs that allow them to stand on their hind legs (albiet kinda uncomfortably, but it's used mainly as an intimidation tactic), and their front paws have extra joints and longer 'thumbs' that allow them to grip larger objects such as rocks, branches, other creatures and maybe the occasional bone or two. Add that to broad shoulders and magical abilities, and you've got yourself a special breed of transforming Alien!

This concept sheet was mostly to explore the general body type of the 'wolves', as well as compare how truly different they can be!

- Mica, whos 'wolf' design is obviously her Werewolf AU transformed into a primarily feral creature, is of course big and beast-like, having a more ragged and muscular look thanks to both her past and her drive/spite for the world making her try to get stronger and be as intimidating as possible(as is the usual for her). She has pure chaotic and 'I'll fuck you up' energy.

- Breein, however, is 'smaller' sleeker, and ALOT more casual than the monsterous Silver. She's the more 'wolf'-like of the two, both in looks and movement. She's got a more narrow shoulder structure and a a more even coat of fur, and she could probably pass for a giant emotional support dog if they tried hard enough (because gods know they need it).

According to mom, Bris design is pretty on point for what she actually looks like (YAY! QuQ), but I personally do want to do a few more concepts, be it for Dessess or just the books in general! The fact that she trusts me to do so actually means alot, but I'll only post stuff she says is ok- I'm pretty sure quite a bit of it might be spoiler-y, so who knows, those points might be Patron exclusive until she gives the 'ok' 😏
