Hey guys, it's a brand new month, and something that has been on the shelf for a good while and it was about time I gave it some attention. The Aladino line has quite the interesting reputation in the industry. Was probably a good time at this point since they have an array of sticks that I need to puff into. Let's get started.
Aladino Connecticut Robusto:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras
Pre-Light/Construction:
For a Connecticut wrapper this was a bit different than others. It's almost like the vibrant brightness in the wrapper was fading away a bit. The construction however was neat and tightly packed. Maybe the contributing factor to the wrapper fade in color was due to the vagueness of the band itself. With the white and black color and lettering along with the mirror effect that the rest of the band. Sort of something different in a band to either draw attention or deceive a perception of what it may bring. The veins and seems were up and down on presence and fade. Still the overall construction was neat and clean.
The Burn Part 1:
It was a Monday and I went to the club to chill. Put on some Trevor Something for music. The first few puffs were calm but had a heavy hand of baked bread notes. Mainly a calm start with a bit of faint white pepper notes. Luckily for me, I had brought some coffee from home to add to this stick. Not really much to offer in the 1st third here. Mainly a calm start for a Connecticut, until near the end there was some barnyard hay notes to give it a little more vibrancy in tone.
The Burn Part 2:
Soon Steven came by and we had our usual pow wow session. By this time, there was a bit of cream notes to add along with the hay. In my mind this was a great start for the review month. The white pepper notes surprisingly stayed in the same strength. The body itself was still mainly calm and mild. Till the end of the 2nd third, the cream notes started to migrate over to the bread and give it even more of a breakfast tone. Loving this.
The Burn Final:
So far no other changes as of now, until the cream notes started to migrate over to the baked bread notes and sort of formulated a combo. Almost like a graham cracker taste. The mild pepper notes have completely vanished near the end while the rest have remained in their strength. To be honest I wish for something of this tone to continue just a little longer. I was in pure calm and peaceful bliss. With the last puffs coming to an end the main winners was the bread and cream notes. I put her out with another swig of my coffee.
Verdict:
If I had a list of the Perfect Coffee Cigars, this would definitely be in the top tier of all of them. Something calm and subtle about the blend itself. It's not too over the top in flavor and tone, but it's the right amount to wind down if you are looking for a good morning to relax of course with a cup of coffee. If you see any of these, grab yourself a box. Keep them handy in case you want a good morning smoke.
