“My, my! So, yer not dead at all, eh?”

“I should think not!” The indignant mermaid spat, thoroughly unamused by the young sailor’s apparent obliviousness at such an obvious fact. “Although, you might be if you dare to smack my turtle again!”

“Well excuse me, princess!” The sailor retorted, his paw on his chest in mock indignation. “I didn’t know ol’ soup bones was yers! The boys back at the ship thought they saw a sea monster nibblin’ on a pretty lass, so I came to check out the sit-“

“How much, asshole?”

“Two silver, with the over,” the cat confessed. “But yer alive! So, I’m not here to rob ya, or eat yer turtle. D’ya need a lift?”

“Oh yes,” the mermaid quipped. “Why I’d just love to be the center of attention on deck for your crew of horny miscreants - after all, their captain is just sooo charming!”

“Heavens no! We’d be strappin’ ya to the front of the boat -

The cheeky sailor quickly lost his tongue as the sea around his dinghy grew darker, although still considerably brighter than the scowl that now haunted the mermaid’s once lovely visage. The jewels that adorned the mermaid’s tail began to glow, and it was clear that he had lost what little favor - if any - he had left...


Full background commission for of his sailor Rennac meeting my mermaid Jade for the first time, and things are...not going so smooth for him. ^.^' You see, she's not as sweet as the Disney movies would have you believe. But, she's no Ursula either and perhaps she'll give the paddle back eventually, if he plays his cards right. ;)
