Just finished watching a video about the Battle of Jutland. At one point, the paymaster for HMS New Zealand stepped out on deck for a breath of air - and had his pants blown clean off him from the ship's main battery firing (the lull in the fighting wasn't nearly as long as he'd thought, apparently).

that was one heck of a battle... the Brits lost big because of stupidity - leaving a clear way from the magazines to the guns so they could fire faster...

Based on the relative sizes of the two fleets and the historical outcome, I'd say Jutland was tactically indecisive but a strategic British victory. I agree that the ammunition handling was a case of clear criminal neglect, and Beatty should have had his flag officer thrown over the side. Beatty himself should have been drummed out of the Navy - you do not leave your superior in the dark regarding your position, course and speed when the fate of the entire Empire depends on you.
