Sketchbook Drawing - Kissing Practice
Well not practice for Annie and Something here, they know what they are doing, but for me sketching it. Drawing people kissing can be a pain in the arse, but also a lot of fun as it is an opportunity to express deep feelings between characters, so I like to practice drawing it when I can.

The hardest parts of drawing kissing, back when I drew at all, were threefold:
1) Dynamism without too much exaggeration. Kisses needed to suggest motion, leaning, imbalance, interesting 'action lines' -- without being overly dynamic, overly kinetic. Berne Hogarth methods were a spice of great granularity, and a sprinkle too much kineticism turned a kiss into bad comedy.
2) It's really, really hard to convey artistically-recognizable emotions, in a place where people often have a very passive, resting face. (Hand placement does a *lot* of emoting, as does leaning, twisting, and shoulder posture...)
3) The longer the muzzle, the harder it becomes to model the kiss like an identifiable human kiss.
You've done a gorgeous job here. As a once-artist, I am damned impressed!

First off I really appreciate you feedback here even if I feel 'oh man, I has the dumbs and don't know what to say in response!' sometimes.
Kissing o me has always been an interesting drawing challenge, but anthros bring that up to eleven, so I am glad that my practice of this has had positive results so far.
Expressionism and emotions is something I really do want to focus on more; I do really love doing pin-ups, but they don't offer a lot of opportunity in that area, so been thinking on moving to comic and interaction stuff more.
