Text by Ferroth: "A commission from MegaJeff1989 featuring again, Prince Jabari. Here is where I imagine him making himself known to a governor in the city, who is a wicked member of a race of beings ruled by Set who have overtaken Egypt."
Anubis, the first of the dead, guardian of the grave, and preserver of those who have fallen asleep, has called Jabari to take a few of his brothers, the wild jackals, to a small city in lower Egypt, and free a number of important anubian women enslaved and exploited under this governor. Called the sisters of Edjo, these women were children who were once guarded by Edjo, the cobra goddess who is now asleep under the power of Set. The sisters have been trapped and used under the oppression of the governor, with no way to call upon their matriarch goddess. They have been appealing to Anubis, thus, and now Jabari comes to liberate them and give them back their strength to fight and conquer.
Depicted here behind Jabari is Shideh, the humblest of the sisters. Because of her meekness, she was one to be favorited by the wicked governor of Set. Jabari has arrived and cut her bindings—and now she is the first to go free, whilst Jabari does battle with the governor and his minions. In this battle, Shideh does battle for the first time in her life, saving Jabari’s life in turn when he becomes overwhelmed.
Jabari and Shideh will eventually become lovers.
”Just you wait ‘Master.’ When Edjo is awakened, and when she learns what you’ve been doing to us, she’ll have you devoured vengefully! So enjoy your time starving in the pitch darkness with the scorpions for company in the same cell you kept us in. We mean it. Enjoy it! While you still can. When we come back and you hear Mother Edjo’s venomous whisper’s calling for you, you’re pleasure of living is done with.”
Shideh is Persian for "Bright, Luminous, The Sun"
The poses are based on this movie poster for the fantastically cheesy 1982 film "The Sword And The Sorcerer". https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1.....g?v=1569038898
