Though not all systems within the Frontier Space sector fall under its jurisdiction, the FWCA is the colonies barest minimum concession to a centralized government. Originally formulated as a Colonization Committee during the founding of New Deco at the start of the Colony Golden Age, the Colonial Authority was given more regulatory power after the Crypto Crash of '22, and to this day oversees functions such as hyperline policing and maintenance, patent protection, out-of-sector diplomacy, and regulating the sectors de-facto universal currency: Corporate Scrip. In truth, the FWCA has the precarious job of curbing the most detrimental of the colonies corporate excesses while serving as a figurehead for its collective enterprises like the Von Drakes (and behind closed doors, La Glossata).

Wherever there's an overworked bureaucrat or trigger-happy customs agent, the Frontier World Colonial Authority's payroll is at work.
