Parker had arrived to the Mud Men Crew outpost earlier that week. He had spent a few days shackled with the other prospects in the newcomer’s cabin.
Now he was up for his initiation with the rest of his group. 3 men had gone before him, 2 had successfully passed their initiation, and earned their boots. The very first one wasn’t as lucky, he had to be hoisted out of the muck, and will be spending the next week gagged, in a straightjacket, and in “the hole”.
Parker was the last initiation of the evening. The sun was beginning to set and long shadows crept across the mudscape, filling up crevices and outlining the few plants that dare grew amongst the pits.
Parker was shoved into the cool muck with haste, the middle and senior members were watching to see if Parker would be able to submerge and escape successfully.
Parker thrashed in the mud as it sucked him in deeper and deeper. The pressure against his naked body felt as if the earth was giving him a tight bear hug.
Parker peered over at the onlookers and continued to struggle, ensuring he would sink deeper and deeper into the muck.
