1) I do not miss the USSR at all - obviously, there were reasons for that, but the consequences do not look the best.
2) The USSR is not communism. An aggressive empire, a huge economy, a strong enemy, and so on. To some extent, it was a totalitarian system. All states are, to one degree or another, a totalitarian system. I think the USA, Great Britain (Albania, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan or my dear fckn' Ukraine too) are no exception.
