My father built one of thse 27 years ago. He replaced the factory nipple with a sure-fire setup that uses centerfire rifle primers. It works very well, but its a bit more tedious.

Could be worth it and cheaper in the long run. Currently tedious now. Gotta get pliers to pull the primer off since the T/C ones are so brittle they get crushed by the hammer and the lip bows out and clings to the primer.

I assume you have a machine shop? These things require a pretty good sized lathe to property ream and rife one of these things.

Well good. Is a shame so many folk keep their rare/collectable/old/precious firearms locked away in some vault display case... it's bloody wrong to do that.
