My husband has a ton of little blank black journals that he ended up with some time ago, and he hasn't really used them, so he let me swipe one and decorate it. I did the red by blocking off the areas I wanted to paint and stippling plain out of the box red on it, which gave a distressed look fantastically. The silver bits are actually the bits that are left over after they punch the holes out of scales for scale maille, and Ring Lord sells them for super cheap, so I got almost a pound of them. Muaha! The other side has more work done on it, but it's also a little messy, which is why I didn't upload it instead. I also have the spine painted. I'm tempted to go in with my gold paint and write on the spine, but I don't think I can do it with a dry enough brush to get the desired effect. Anyway, there you have it. Enjoy!
